As your trampoline is constantly exposed to the elements, it’s natural for dirt and debris to accumulate after a while. Here’s how to clean the textile parts of your Kahuna trampoline, including the jump mat, safety net and padding.
Start by removing all visible debris from your trampoline mat. Climb inside the trampoline and sweep all leaves and twigs into a dustpan.
After you dispose of the leaves, lift the safety pad and inspect the springs. (Make sure no one is jumping on the trampoline when you are doing this!) Brush off any leaves or twigs you may have missed.
Use a garden hose or bucket to soak the net and jumping mat. Be careful of the pressure when using a hose!
Fill your bucket with warm water and two tablespoons of washing liquid or dish soap. Mix thoroughly, adding more soap if needed.
Kahuna Tip: You don’t need any harsh chemicals to clean your trampoline mat. A simple soap and water solution will get the job done effectively.
If your net is visibly stained or requires deep cleaning, you may want to take it off the trampoline first. Otherwise, gently scrub the net with a soft brush or sponge dipped in your cleaning solution. (Don’t forget the pole sleeves and zipper entrance!)
Using a bucket or garden hose, rinse off the net thoroughly. It’s very important that you rinse off all the soap as any residue can harden or damage the net fabric. Rinsing the net first prevents the soap from drying while you clean the mat.
After rinsing the net, you can start cleaning the mat. Working in sections, scrub the mat using a sponge or brush soaked in the soapy water solution. Rinse the mat as you go and keep scrubbing until the water runs clear from the trampoline.
Give the jumping mat and net one last rinse, making sure that the water runs clear before you dry off the trampoline.
To speed up the drying process, remove as much excess moisture as you can with some old towels. Once the trampoline is no longer dripping, wipe off the frame and springs with a dry cloth.
The trampoline padding is waterproof, which makes it easier to clean than the net and mat. All you have to do is wipe it with soapy water and give it a rinse after.
Remove all towels and leave the trampoline net and mat to dry under the sun. Once it’s all dry, you can sit back, relax and enjoy your shiny clean trampoline!
